Volume Treatments are injectable gels used to restore volume and fullness to the face, lips, and other areas of the face. They are injected under the skin to smooth out wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of aging.
The most commonly used dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to hydrate and plump the skin.
Volume Treatments can be used to enhance facial features such as the cheeks, lips, and chin, as well as to fill in lines and wrinkles around the nose, mouth, and forehead. The results of dermal fillers are temporary and typically last between six months to two years, depending on the type of filler used and the individual’s body chemistry.
Get immediate results with Volume Treatments. You will see volume immediately with smoother wrinkles and creases to the injected areas. Once settled, the full effect is visible, which is usually a matter of days.
Advise your doctor and your cosmetic nurse if you are taking blood thinners such as aspirin, warfarin etc, taking fish oils, using ibuprofen, recently had minor dental work or have an auto-immune condition.
Prior to your first treatment, we will assess your suitability for dermal fillers and discuss any concerns or address an questions you have. The procedure involves a small amount of the prescribed product administered into the selected areas using fine needle, or in some instances a cannula. You may experience some stinging.
Swelling at the injection site is normal. This is more severe when lips have been injected. With any injections into the skin with dermal filler, lumpiness may occur. Lumps after dermal filler is a common issue and can be normal and temporary, or it may need to be reviewed. It is very common to have temporary lumpiness in the skin in the first few weeks after dermal filler. What usually happens is that it will integrate into the skin by about week 4.
All cosmetic treatments carry out risks. Our cosmetic injector will discuss these risks with you prior the treatment.
Apply ice to help ease swelling and irritation. We recommend applying ice to your lips following your procedure. An ice pack or an ice cube covered in a thin flannel will certainly do the trick.
